    Day 2 is nearly complete.

    I'm exhausted.

However, it's been another brilliant day.  The children engaged with some fantastic new activities they haven't experienced before and despite some changeable weather, spirits amongst the children are very high.

Mrs Ellis began her day at 2.30 a.m.  The first night can always be challenging and some children can find it hard to settle.  However, Mrs Ellis is excellent in those situations.

Breakfast was great.  I'd like to thank all of the children who saved me a hash brown.  I imagine my ParkRun time will be a little slower this weekend as I thanked a LOT of children.

Our morning activities were sensory trail and canoeing.  Those naughty woodland squirrels were up to no good; showering the children with muddy leaves as they tried to navigate their way around a variety of obstacles while blindfolded.  AD created a whole new course for herself where she completely avoided all of the obstacles.  She doesn't need to know.

The wind created a whole new set of challenges for the children out on the lake during canoeing.  Paddling into a stiff breeze is not easy and most pairings found themselves constantly being beached.  LCC and WB managed to master the conditions and it's nice to know that if the Spanish Armada return those boys can defend our shores.

The afternoon was disc golf and vertical challenge.  I enjoyed a round of disc golf with MK, TC, AD and FZ. It was most delightful.  TC engaged with a few questionable 'preferred lies' but I'm sure the Royal and Ancient Golfing Society won't be challenging him.

Dinner this evening was katsu curry or macaroni cheese.  IF wanted chicken katsu curry without the curry sauce but was adamant that it was still katsu curry.  It's not. It's just chicken.  PC found the world's largest piece of cucumber in his salad bowl.  He's named it Colin.  He was going to bring it home with him to share with his parents.  Can I suggest that his parents check his luggage carefully when he gets home just in case Colin has metamorphised.
